Yesterday I finished my last exam for the semester. There is however no rest for the wicked as in six days I will be in Prague ready to begin a four week summer semester. The program has two subjects, 'Special Topics in Leadership' and one elective, mine being 'Human Rights in International Relations'. Fifty-two people from universities around the world will converge on Prague for all manner of shenanigans. Oh, and to learn of course! I shall also expect to experience all manner of cultural stereotypes from Eastern Europeans and all other people I meet on the course to be both broken and reinforced. Which begs the question, what Australian stereotypes shall I break or reinforce, whether intentionally or unintentionally?
The above picture I believe is our accommodation for the course as well. I am certainly looking forward to living there. Other things to look forward to are;
- The Beer
- The trip to Rome on the third weekend
- Likely going to Vienna on the Second weekend
- Experiencing a new culture
- The course itself
- Most of all, the People
Not really that much else to write. Oh, most definitely not really looking forward to the 36hour journey to reach the destination, but meh, I've certainly done worse. All that is left now is to pack and to try not to be sober now that exams are over. I will probably take a few 'Aussie' tokens over, though with forty other nationalities one cannot cater for all, but Tim Tams will Suffice! They always will.
If anyone that decides to follow the blog has been to Prague before shoot me some ideas on where to go and the like, or where not to go!
PS: That isn't really our accommodation!
